I'm Chelsea.

After leaving my wonderful stay at Cliveden House, I headed to The Lanesborough for a quick one night stay in London before heading off to Croatia. I knew I would still be jetlagged so I wanted to find a hotel that was close walking distance to my favorite places, was comfortable and bright and airy, and where I could take a nice bath and unwind. I picked the perfect place.

From the nondescript entrance that makes you feel like you are coming home rather than to a hotel, to the elegant rooms for afternoon tea, to having a butler to bring me jetlag tea and help set up my bath if I so chose, The Lanesborough truly is quintessential London is the most five-star sense.

And you’re close to everything! You are literally caddy corner to Hyde Park and Buckingham Gate and just a quick walk to Harrod’s, Buckingham Palace, amazing restaurants, and so much more. They also have private cars available to take you places nearby (they took me to Victoria Station to make my train to Gatwick Airport).

The Room

If you want to feel like royalty, stay at The Lanesborough. Every aspect of the design and decor is immaculate and ornate without being ostentatious. One cool thing is that each floor has a different color scheme!

Like everything about this hotel, the room portrays a feeling of home with an added touch of luxury. The Italian marble bathrooms feature full-sized toiletries, and the televisions are disguised under paintings. Suites also have fresh fruit, still & sparkling water complimentary in-room.

The room is modern in the sense that a tablet controls everything (lights, temperature, curtains, etc), yet the furnishings and textiles portray traditional London.

Upon check-in, they provide personalized “business cards” with a phone number to your direct hotel room for you to hand out if you are traveling on business. All of the little touches like these are what makes The Lanesborough so special.

Breakfast at Céleste

If I could have breakfast in one room for the rest of my life, it would be Céleste. The bright, ornate space filled with pastel blues and golds soaks in the sunshine from above bringing a cheerful ambience to the space.

Not only is the room beautiful, but the food is beyond delicious. I decided to go the healthy route with egg whites and juice, but their menu is filled with a wide variety of appetizing options suitable for everyone. Plus, they were able to accommodate my lactose-free dietary requests extremely well!

Breakfast for two is included when you book your stay at The Lanesborough with Passport To Friday!

What to order: Detox Juice, “Greenola”, Avocado on Toast with Poached Egg, Egg Whites with Spinach (they made dairy-free for me!), and Nutella Crepes if you’re feel like indulging!
