I'm Chelsea.

As I’m in the midst of my busy January with 18 days on the road for work and a few extra days on the road for personal fun (a girl’s gotta take a break right), I have started to worry that those New Years resolutions may have to be pushed back to February. Through tips and tricks I’ve learned from others and personal experience, I have put together a short checklist on how to stay healthy on the road.

Go grocery shopping (& pack some groceries before).

Separate blog post to come on my travel grocery list, but this is a great way to control your portions and ingredients while on the road AND save lots of money. As a prelude, some of my favorite staples are greek yogurt, Ak Mak crackers, apples, deli turkey, and hummus. Yum!

Request a refrigerator in your room.

Pack tupperware and store some groceries in here. This will help you resist the urge to buy that tempting pastry in the hotel coffee shop in the morning or order expensive room service. Save money + eat well = happy girl.

Check gyms and studios around your hotel.

If you have free time (even if that means squeezing in a workout at 5am or 9pm), utilizing the gyms and studios within close proximity of your hotel may prove very beneficial. Many gyms offer a free trial week and many studios offer free or discounted classes to first-time students.

Some examples of these are:

  • Core Power Yoga– 7 days free for those who have never tried CorePower before (I recommend the Sculpt class – it’s barely even yoga for those who are intimidated by yoga!)

  • Pure Barre – 4 for $40 to use within 14 days

  • Club Pilates – first class is $10, or try 2 classes for $20

  • Fly Wheel – first class free in some cities!

Also check out locally owned studios as many smaller places offer great deals!

Safe traveling y’all!

Best,

Chelsea Rose Martin
